HBO, ReedPop Launch New Merch Line For Game of Thrones

Winter may not be coming for Game of Thrones fans until 2019 when the final season of the acclaimed HBO series begins, but in the meantime devotees of the epic fantasy adventure can enjoy some new GOT-branded merchandise.

Just launched, the collection will include themed apparel, bags, barware, pins, key chains and more. Additional products will debut throughout the year. HBO and ReedPop, a pop culture event producer, have teamed up to sell the swag – only there’s a bit of a catch.

Tapping into an exclusivity factor that will likely heighten the appeal of the merch for GOT aficionados, the new collection will be available exclusively at ReedPop events. Indeed, the merch debuted at Emerald City Comic Con (March 1-4) and will be for sale at other such events, including New York Comic Con in October. Still, some pop culture media pros say it would be a good idea to keep an eye on HBO’s GOT store for potential offerings from the collection.

“We will be kicking the partnership off with an impressive lineup of items at Emerald City Comic Con, but this is just the beginning,” said Jeff Peters, HBO’s vice president of licensing and retail. “Fans can expect to see more awesome items at ReedPOP events around the globe.”

Naturally, ReedPOP was amped about the collection. “Game of Thrones is a global phenomenon that our fans can never get enough of,” said Lance Fensterman, ReedPop’s global senior vice president. “Both the programming and talent have historically been a huge hit with fans at our shows, so creating this crossover to provide an exclusive collection of merchandise was a no-brainer.”
