Jeff Lederer knows how to make a grand re-entrance.

Lederer is the past owner of former Top 40 supplier Prime Line, a company his father founded. Current Top 40 supplier alphabroder (asi/34063) acquired the business in 2017 and Lederer joined as president of Prime under the alpha umbrella.

In 2020, Lederer left his position, and while he acquired a co-majority stake in European supplier Premium Square Group (PSG), Lederer was outside of the North American promo spotlight after his departure.

Until May, that is.

That’s when Lederer returned to the domestic merch market in a big way, spearheading an investment firm, GIG Myron Holdings LLC, that acquired Top 40 distributor Myron (asi/278980). The move catapulted Lederer back into the $25.8 billion North American promo industry – and back onto the Power 50, a list he had been on multiple times previously.

Myron is a venerable distributorship with a near 75-year history, but the firm had fallen on hard times prior to the acquisition. Still, where some see challenges, Lederer sees opportunity, pointing to advantages like Myron having facilities in New Jersey, Toronto, Honduras, China and Germany, as well as a unique business model that includes marketing directly to end-users, distributors and suppliers in North America and Europe.

Indeed, Lederer believes Myron has the core ingredients to become a major player – maybe even a disruptor – in the promotional products space. He’s working to make that happen – and the promo industry will be watching.
