ASI, Promo Industry Raise Nearly $86,000 to Help Ukraine

The money will be used to help Red Cross workers deliver aid to Ukrainians in need.

A fund drive launched by ASI and the Norman Cohn family has raised $85,998 to help provide humanitarian aid to the millions of Ukrainians devastated by Russia’s unprovoked invasion on their land. The money will go the Red Cross, to help distribute food, water, clothing and other necessities to Ukrainians.

ASI and the Cohn family announced the humanitarian fund drive shortly after the war began on Feb. 24, pledging to donate $1 for every $2 donation, up to a $20,000 contribution. Throughout March and April, more than 300 donations were made.

“Once again, the promo community came together to meet and exceed 100% of our fundraising goal and help the most vulnerable among us,” said Tim Andrews, ASI president and CEO. “I’m not surprised by our industry’s generosity, but I am very, very grateful to everyone who donated, whether it was $10 or $10,000. I’m also heartened by the many promo companies that conducted fundraisers of their own. Amid the darkness, good prevails.”

The money ASI raised goes directly to the Red Cross, helping boots-on-the-ground workers distribute food, water, clothing, bedding, hygiene sets, blankets, tents and even SIM cards to people throughout Ukraine and in countries taking in refugees. The United Nations estimates that the war has forced over 3.1 million Ukrainians to flee to bordering countries – the quickest and largest displacement of people in Europe since World War II.

The war in Ukraine is personal for ASI, as the company has several technology colleagues working remotely in the country, and several employees in the U.S. have family and friends there.
