Taylor Corp. Subsidiary Acquires Promo Supplier Accu Copy

Taylor’s portfolio of companies already includes Top 40 firms Taylor Promotional Products and ADG Promotional Products.

The Occasions Group, a Minnesota-headquartered printing company, is acquiring the assets of Greenville, NC-headquartered supplier Accu Copy (asi/30490). Financial terms of the deal were not released.

The Occasions Group is part of Taylor Corporation, which is also the parent firm of Top 40 distributor Taylor Promotional Products (asi/333647), Top 40 supplier ADG Promotional Products (asi/97270), and Amsterdam Printing (asi/121500), among many others.

The Occasions Group specializes in custom printing of products like greeting cards, invitations, napkins and coasters. It also manufactures such products, as well as envelopes.

Accu Copy provides commercial printing, direct mail services and promo products solutions through its AccuLink division. In addition, the firm produces flexible packaging products through its AccuFlex division.

Accu Copy has invested heavily in the digital print space and operates one of North Carolina’s leading white-label e-commerce fulfillment facilities, as well as a wide range of binding, finishing and direct mail services in-house, executives said.

Notably, AccuLink can produce dye-sublimated products in quantities as low as one – a fact that attracted The Occasions Group. “Their ability to efficiently and profitably produce personalized, giftable items is a game-changer for us,” said Cory Hanna, president of The Occasions Group. “It’s something we’ve been wanting to expand upon for a while and we’re thrilled to see that type of talent and expertise join our team.”

Another important upside to the acquisition is AccuFlex’s focus on flexible packaging. “We see a big growth curve ahead for flexible packaging and we’re especially intrigued by what they’re doing in regard to sustainability,” said Troy Barnes, president of Taylor’s consumer labels business.

Barnes noted that AccuFlex uses bio-based packaging films and closures along with e-beam curing technology, resulting in flexible packaging products that are both recyclable and compostable. “Taylor is committed to sustainable business practices and AccuFlex’s experience with bio-based packaging advances our goals in that area,” Barnes shared.

Accu Copy’s roots stretch back 42 years to 1980. The AccuFlex division was founded in 2020. Accu Copy Founder Tom O’Brien said partnering with Taylor/The Occasions Group is a win for all involved – especially clients.

“Our respective product lines and technologies mesh perfectly, but there’s also the cultural element,” O’Brien asserted. “Taylor has an entrepreneurial spirit and is privately held, just like Accu Copy, so they’re always investing for the future. I’m excited to see what we can accomplish together.”

Headquartered in North Mankato, MN, Taylor Corp. employs more than 10,000 across its various subsidiaries and has operations in 25 states and eight countries.
