The Bright Side: Logomark-Sponsored Dog Finds Home With Navy Veteran

Scout, a German shepherd, recently finished service dog training through the Shelter to Soldier nonprofit, thanks to sponsorship by the Top 40 promo supplier.

Scout, the black-and-brown German shepherd that Logomark (asi/67866) rescued last year, just found a new home.

The first service dog that the Tustin, CA-based Top 40 promotional products supplier sponsored through Shelter to Soldier has been matched with Adam Fleener, a U.S. Navy veteran. Shelter to Soldier is a nonprofit that rescues dogs from local shelters and trains them to become psychiatric service dogs for post-9/11 U.S. military combat veterans suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), traumatic brain injury (TBI) and other psychological injuries associated with service experiences.

Adam Fleener, a U.S. Navy veteran, was matched with Scout, the service dog Logomark sponsored through the Shelter to Soldier program.

“Scout has been a great addition to me and my family,” Fleener said. “I’m so happy that I was able to find Shelter to Soldier. We’re grateful to have Scout in our lives.”

Scout’s journey through the Shelter to Soldier training program required extra dedication, according to the nonprofit, since the German shepherd had some orthopedic challenges. “Scout’s story is special, unique and a true rescue story, given what he’s been through, and it’s all thanks to Logomark,” said Graham Bloem, co-founder, president and training director for Shelter to Soldier.

Last year, Logomark began sponsoring Scout and held an online contest to choose a name that was appropriate to the dog’s calling. Kelsey Schwartz of Print Globe came up with the winning moniker. Logomark plans to sponsor more dogs – and hold more naming contests – later this year.

“We’re grateful to be in a position to support Shelter to Soldier and proud to help build awareness of their commitment to ‘saving lives two at a time,’” said Clive Goldberg, chief operating officer at Logomark.

Logomark’s Perka, iCool and Work brands are all official sponsors of Shelter to Soldier, and a portion of all proceeds is donated to the organization. More details of Logomark’s giveback programs are available at logomark.com/cares.

Founded in 1993, Logomark provides more than 3,000 products in diverse categories. With reported 2020 North American promotional product revenue of $81.8 million, Logomark ranked 16th on Counselor’s most recent list of the largest suppliers in the industry.
