Ameramark Opens Production Facility in Mexico

The California-based supplier owns the operation, which executives say will allow the firm to offer more cost-effective products.

Ameramark (asi/53455) is expanding internationally.

The Santa Ana, CA-based promo supplier of products like canopy tents, wind flags, table covers and inflatables, has established a new 25,000-square-foot production facility in Ensenada, Mexico.

Ameramark emphasized that it owns and operates the facility and has full control of the manufacturing process. Founded in 2004, Ameramark has previously produced products in the United States. It will continue to make items in its California facility while also offering distributors what executives described as more cost-effective items from the Mexico operation.

“The opening of our Ensenada facility allows us to offer competitive pricing without compromising our commitment to quality and timely delivery,” said CEO Cary Breeden. “We’re excited to provide even more options and deliver exceptional value to our valued distributors and their clients.”

Beyond cost-effectiveness, Ameramark’s Mexico facility offers distributors other advantages, the company said.

“For projects that span throughout the year, Ameramark’s Mexico facility can accommodate the production requirements by proactively managing premade inventory and ensuring timely drop-shipping as needed,” a statement from the supplier read. “Moreover, these projects benefit from additional discounts due to streamlined operations.”

The majority of promotional products sold in the United States and Canada are manufactured in Asia, particularly China. Still, industry sourcing leaders say there has been growing interest – and in cases action – in moving some production to Western Hemisphere locations, especially Mexico.
