alphabroder | Prime Line Launches Source Abroad Apparel

The service from the Top 40 supplier allows for the streamlined creation of custom wearables, executives say.

The second-largest supplier in the North American promotional products industry says it’s launching a new service that aims to make creating custom apparel easier.

Prime Line, traditionally the hard goods division of Top 40 supplier alphabroder (asi/34063), is debuting the new Source Abroad Apparel offering. Executives said the service will enable distributors to enjoy a streamlined process for delivering top-notch, on-trend wearables to any industry or vertical.

“We have created an easy-to-use step by step platform that allows our customers to create unique, remarkable pieces built to any brand’s guidelines,” said Marc Held, senior vice president of sales for alphabroder | Prime Line. “We believe that this offering will only enhance what we can do for our customers.”

With Source Abroad Apparel, distributors can work with the supplier to create an original designed layout from eight different apparel silhouettes, including T-shirts, polo shirts and fleece. Starting with a blank canvas, customers can then select a PMS color to match their brand, as well as accent colors, decoration locations and more. Also included in each piece is a custom woven label and hangtag.

“If you can dream it, we can customize it,” said Andrew Brodey, vice president of global sourcing. “I am really looking forward to seeing all the original pieces that are created.”

Executives said that Source Abroad is alphabroder | Prime Line’s custom overseas arm, with dedicated experts that work on import projects. The service already offered the creation of products other than apparel.

The supplier asserted that benefits of Source Abroad are fast lead times that include an express 30-day service; a unique logistics model offering protection from supply chain challenges; pricing up to 20% lower than “off the shelf” solutions; and project management from sampling to delivery, with an emphasis on quality and product safety.

With reported 2020 North American promotional product revenue of $1.53 billion, alphabroder | Prime Line ranked second on Counselor’s most recent list of the largest distributors in the industry. The new rankings are due out in July.
