The maker of athletic apparel and footwear has reported its fourth quarter and full-year earnings.

Nike increased revenue and earnings in its fiscal fourth quarter and full-year fiscal 2021, both of which concluded May 31.

The Oregon-headquartered athletic apparel and footwear brand reported on Thursday, June 24, that its total fiscal 2021 revenue rose 19% to $44.5 billion, up 17% year over year on a currency-neutral basis.

In 2020, COVID-19 shutdowns and related pandemic issues deeply impacted Nike’s performance. Amid societal reopening and a booming economic recovery, Nike’s 2021 Q4 revenue soared 96% compared to that prior-year period, reaching $12.3 billion. On a currency-neutral basis, fourth quarter revenue was up 88%.

For the full year, Nike’s net income was $5.7 billion. Diluted earnings per share were $3.56, up 123%.

For the fourth quarter, Nike’s net income was $1.5 billion, with diluted earnings per share of $0.93. That compared to a net loss for the fourth quarter of 2020 of $790 million and a net loss per share of $0.51.

For fiscal 2022, Nike anticipates that its revenue will grow in the low double-digit percentage range, rising above $50 billion. The firm also expects continued supply chain delays and higher costs related to logistics like shipping – something with which the promotional products industry is also contending.

In a recent study by Top 40 promotional products distributor 4imprint (asi/197045), Nike took first place in a list of the 25 most iconic brand logos.
