The Magnet Group Partners With Senator

Top 40 supplier The Magnet Group (asi/68507) has reached a deal with Europe’s top supplier of promotional pens, German company Senator, to sell a curated line of its pens in North America.

Dan Jellinek, executive vice president of The Magnet Group.

The new partnership will kick off Oct. 1, with Magnet initially stocking seven of Senator’s best-selling styles in four to six popular colors. Magnet will also be offering the entire line as a direct import from Germany, according to Dan Jellinek, executive vice president of the The Magnet Group.

“We couldn’t be more excited to add a brand like Senator to our offering,” Jellinek said. “We’re seeing a big trend in ‘better goods,’ and with Senator, we’ll have the best of the best in the pen market.”

Jellinek added that Senator pens will be an ideal pairing with its Castelli division (asi/44305). “The everyday luxury of a Castelli journal will now be able to be accompanied by a high-quality European writing instrument from Senator,” he said. “This is a perfect marriage.”

Erik Wuerkner, key accounts for international markets at Senator, is also excited about the partnership. “With having further improved our product range and services in the past years, we’re now seeing a great opportunity to successfully penetrate the U.S. market,” he said. “And in the Magnet Group, we believe we have the best partner possible to achieve this target.”

Senator, a family-owned company, is interested in “long-term partnerships and sustainable growth, not short results,” said Daniel Jeschonowski, CEO and owner of the Senator Group. “We will do our utmost to ensure the strengths of The Magnet Group and Senator together will lead into a long-term success story in the U.S. market.”

Based in Atlanta, The Magnet Group ranked No. 12 in the 2019 Counselor Top 40 list, with revenue last year of $117.9 million.
