Atlantis Headwear Preserves Italian Forest to Promote Environmental Stewardship

The Italian headwear supplier offers 27 sustainable cap and hat styles to the North American promo market.

Sustainable Italian headwear brand Atlantis (asi/37380) is adding another layer to its eco initiatives.

The supplier’s Bosco dei Racconti project aims to promote sustainability and environmental stewardship by preserving a private forest located within five miles of the company’s headquarters in Italy. Bosco dei Racconti features nearly 600 trees and plants that have absorbed 182 tons of carbon dioxide since its establishment, according to the company.

To achieve this feat, Atlantis says it worked closely with Divisione Energia Srl, a specialized studio in energy and environmental projects. Together, they conducted a comprehensive survey of the area, georeferenced all the trees, prepared a technical report highlighting the carbon absorbed by each plant, developed a digital thematic map, and created informative panels to be placed throughout the forest.

Atlantis and its parent company, Master Italia, believe the trees in Bosco dei Racconie embody the brand’s commitment to the environment.

“Bosco dei Racconti is an essential part of our company vision for a better, more sustainable future,” said Silvia Pallaro, North America account manager. “We hope this initiative will inspire others to follow in promoting environmental consciousness and responsible land use.”

All 27 Atlantis headwear styles available in the U.S. are made with sustainable materials. The best-selling Skye performance cap and the Geo bucket cap are both made from 100% certified recycled polyester. The Powell, a steep-brim bucket hat, is made of 100% cotton, half of which is recycled. The company also offers knit hats, like the Pure beanie made of 60% Polylana, an eco-efficient fiber that’s a sustainable alternative to acrylic and wool. The Yala and Nelson beanies are made of 100% certified organic cotton.

Founded in 1995, Atlantis entered the North American market in 2021 when the company partnered with Top 40 supplier Sportsman Cap & Bag (asi/88877) and its distributors to offer blank caps. Last year, the company partnered with Caps Direct to offer custom-decorated headwear, working through a shared factory with Sportsman.
