As division president, Miller will have responsibility for profit and loss in the Delta Group. He’ll lead organizational functions that include sales, marketing, manufacturing, operations, planning and process improvement.

“Matt is an experienced and proven business leader with a track record of building high-performance business teams while executing and delivering strong and profitable results,” said Delta Apparel CEO Robert W. Humphreys.

Miller was most recently interim chief financial officer at Ardmore Home Designs from June 2021 to April 2022. Prior to joining Ardmore, the 53-year-old was president and CEO of Interface Americas, a global flooring company specializing in carbon-neutral carpet tile and resilient flooring, where he oversaw the North American, Latin American and South American regions, which represented approximately $700 million in revenue.

In addition, Delta Apparel said that Miller has served in other senior leadership positions in strategy, finance and innovation at companies such as American Standard, Kraft Foods, Zyman Group and Newell Brands, parent company of Newell Custom Writing Instruments (asi/84833).

He holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration and finance from the Emory University Goizueta School of Business and an MBA from the Duke University Fuqua School of Business.

In other news, Delta Apparel said that it expects its total company net sales for its fiscal second quarter, which ended April 2, to be approximately $130 million. The figure represents a 20% increase compared to the prior year second quarter, with double-digit sales growth in both the Delta Group and Salt Life Group business segments.

“Our second quarter net sales set a new all-time record for a March quarter at Delta Apparel and were up 26% from our pre-pandemic fiscal 2019 second quarter sales,” the company noted.

With estimated 2020 North American promotional product revenue of $40.8 million, Delta Apparel ranked 35th on Counselor’s most recent list of the largest companies in the industry.
