With a 25% jump in sales last year, the company helmed by founder/CEO/Chairman Trevor Gnesin made some notable changes and took some big swings that are paying off. When the supply chain crisis was at its worst in 2021, Gnesin beefed up his stock, improved his decorating methods and operational processes, invested more in customer service and sales initiatives, and laid the groundwork to bring in such retail brands as Bugatti, Eddie Bauer, Skechers and Hurley. Those big names and substantial lines tapped into what younger buyers are looking for – items of quality that speak to their desire for products that last and aren’t destined for the landfill.

Gnesin, a member of Counselor’s Power 50, also promoted Clive Goldberg to the position of president, allowing for more strategic planning at the executive level. Two areas Goldberg notes that really moved the sales needle last year: More emphasis on drinkware – the industry’s second-largest and fastest-growing product category – and Logomark’s ongoing giveback campaigns, including Shelter to Soldier, 1% for the Planet and the Blue Verve Project, which helps eliminate plastic pollution from the ocean. “That really resonates with younger buyers in particular,” Goldberg says.
