The Bright Side: Logomark Sponsors Second Service Dog

Lucky, a Labrador-shepherd mix, will undergo training through the Shelter to Soldier program before being matched with a veteran in need.

Logomark (asi/67866) is sponsoring its second service dog.

The Tustin, CA-based Top 40 promotional products supplier has rescued Lucky, a 2-year-old male Labrador-shepherd mix, and entered the pooch into the Shelter to Soldier training program.

Lucky, a 2-year-old Labrador-shepherd mix, is being trained through the Shelter to Soldier program, thanks to Logomark’s sponsorship.

Shelter to Soldier is a nonprofit that rescues dogs from local shelters and trains them to become psychiatric service dogs for post-9/11 U.S. military combat veterans suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), traumatic brain injury (TBI) and other psychological injuries associated with service experiences. In recent months, there’s been an influx of dogs being surrendered to shelters, after workers returning to the office discovered they could no longer manage their pandemic-era puppies.

Lucky is expected to graduate sometime next year from Shelter to Soldier’s intensive training program. After graduating, Lucky will be matched with a veteran in need and the two will finish the program together with handler training.

“We’re looking forward to following Lucky’s progress through the Shelter to Soldier program, and I’m especially grateful to be able to help such an amazing organization,” said Trevor Gnesin, CEO of Logomark.

Lucky’s name was chosen through an online contest, with hundreds of entries submitted. Danielle Castro of AnyPromo was the grand prize winner. Barbra Apple of Top 40 distributor American Solutions for Business (asi/120075) was the runner-up. Castro won a Perka Roak 24-ounce double-wall stainless-steel bottle and an iCool Aspen 24-can cooler bag. Apple won a Perka Roak 24-ounce bottle.

The Perka, iCool and Work brands are all official sponsors of Shelter to Soldier, and a portion of all proceeds are donated to the organization.

Last month, Logomark’s first Shelter to Soldier sponsored dog, Scout, was matched with Adam Fleener, a U.S. Navy veteran.

Founded in 1993, Logomark provides more than 3,000 products in diverse categories. With reported 2020 North American promotional product revenue of $81.8 million, Logomark ranked 16th on Counselor’s most recent list of the largest suppliers in the industry.
