Branded Treats Acquires SPOTS NYC

The supplier of brandable food items has also debuted a new e-commerce solution and products.

Branded Treats (asi/93546), a promo products supplier of cookies, cake pops and more, has acquired another food-gift company and launched a new e-commerce offering that it says will allow distributors to provide print-on-demand redemption and company stores featuring delectable edible goodies.

Based in Massachusetts, Branded Treats has acquired SPOTS NYC, which has garnered mainstream media attention by being featured on the TODAY Show, Fox News, Bravo and other nationwide programs. Financial terms of the deal were not released.

Similar to Branded Treats, SPOTS NYC specializes in cookies, cake pops, mini-cakes and candy.

“After bootstrapping SPOTS NYC for the last nine years, we are thrilled to be joining forces with Branded Treats,” said Lily Walla, owner of the brand prior to the sale. “I’ve gotten to know the Branded Treats team over the last year and have been so impressed and inspired by their vision.”

According to Branded Treats, SPOTS NYC’s corporate client list, which includes more than 1,500 U.S. companies, will be shared with distributors to convert those clients to Branded Treats customers. Veronica’s Treats, the consumer-facing division of Branded Treats, will continue servicing the SPOTS NYC consumer orders, the company said. This will include offering those customers the expanded selection of Veronica’s Treats products.

Also, after months of beta testing, Branded Treats has officially launched Sweet Shop, an e-commerce offering that enables distributors to provide print-on-demand redemption and company stores featuring treats and “an end-user experience that has a retail feel,” the company said. Through Sweet Shop, items like cake pops, chocolate-dipped Oreos, sugar cookies, mini-cakes and peppermints can be drop-shipped on demand at one piece and include a custom message.

“Sweet Shop products can feature themes for life’s big moments, alongside company logos or inspirational messaging,” Branded Treats said in a press release, noting the solution has come to market through a partnership with service provider PromoHunt.

In another move, Branded Treats recently expanded its cookie line with the addition of three sizes of direct-print cookies and custom shapes. “Direct print allows the company to ship cookies safely in the summer weather and to easily produce high-volume orders of 10,000 units or more quickly,” the supplier said.
