VIDEO: How One Small Philadelphia Shop Uses Branded Merch

The co-owners of Vault + Vine, a café and flower shop, want to foster community and accessibility in their space.

Even small businesses need branded merch to raise awareness and spread the word about their services. Consider Vault + Vine, a coffee shop and florist based in Philadelphia, where the owners work each day to make it a safe and welcoming place for customers.

“Everything about this space is about community,” says Diana Baye, who co-owns the shop with Breana Pettiford.

The shop recently added a line of branded merch to help boost revenue. T-shirts, mugs, candles and tote bags are among the many logoed items sold at Vault + Vine. Baye and Pettiford made the decision to source the items as locally as possible to help support other small Philadelphia businesses. For example, Tote Jawn, the company that makes bags for Vault + Vine, is run by one woman, and since she hand-stitches each bag, it takes a while restock the items after they’re sold out.

Baye and Pettiford hope to add more branded merch to their lineup, including to-go tumblers and stickers featuring their signature logo. “We just have to get everybody to agree on a design,” Baye says.
