Brands Debut ‘Shoezie,’ Tie-Dye Skateboard and More

With summer coming in hot, fast-food companies and other big brands are enticing customers with new merch lines.

As we endure the first long-term heat wave of the season, it can mean only one thing: time for some summer-themed merch collections from big brands. Whether it’s a sweepstakes tied to tie-dyed hard seltzer or a shoe-shaped can cooler, these merch collections are a testament to the enduring power of promotional items to build brand awareness and boost customer loyalty.

Shoezie

1. A Shoe for Your Beer

With Father’s Day quickly approaching, New Balance and Miller Lite teamed up for the ultimate dad gift. As if drinking Miller Lite weren’t enough to earn you dad points, the limited-edition Shoezie – a bulky can cooler with the look of a New Balance 624 trainer is the perfect way for dads all across the neighborhood to share a cold one together. Miller Lite will be holding a drawing at www.TheShoezie.com on Father’s Day, June 20, starting at 9 a.m. CT. People will be notified by the end of that day whether they’ve won a Shoezie.

2. Tie-Dye Takeover

Bud Light is giving away a slew of tie-dyed merch – from skateboards and cornhole games to bathing suits and beach towels – to drum up interest for its tie-dyed hard seltzers and alcohol-infused ice pops. The brand took to social media asking followers to use the hashtag #tiedyetakeover for a chance to win the retro merch and enjoy what it’s calling a “summer of seltzer.”

Papa John's

3. Pizza Delivery Couture

Papa John’s is helping fans bring out their inner delivery driver with a streetwear line to raise awareness for its new cheddar pizza. The 30-piece collection includes upcycled and customized visors, polos and even an original delivery driver helmet, and is being sold on peer-to-peer social shopping app DePop on a first-come, first-served basis. Some of the items in the collection are “the price of a large pizza,” according to Papa John’s. Profits from the merch sales will go toward charity.

McDonald's swag

4. This Collab Is ‘Dynamite’

Continuing the trend of teaming up with popular music artists, McDonald’s recently released a brand-new BTS meal and merch line. This comes on the heels of the fast-food giant’s recent collaborations with rapper Travis Scott and Colombian reggaeton singer J Balvin. The limited-edition merch for BTS includes T-shirts, hoodies, bags, socks, flip-flops, beach towels, umbrellas and even a purple bathrobe. Many of the items feature a logo of the McDonald’s fry box logo with seven fries to represent each member of the K-pop group.
