Exclusive Interview with Cal Ripken Jr.

Baseball Hall of Famer Cal Ripken Jr. is most famous for playing 2,632 consecutive games – a streak so famous and so seemingly untouchable that it’s known simply as "The Streak." But the Baltimore Orioles star wasn’t without his share of close calls. A hyperextended elbow, a popped knee, and countless other maladies threatened to derail Ripken’s celebrated record. But not only did "The Iron Man" summon the willpower to play through those injuries, he also conditioned his mind to turn those challenges into fuel for his legendary perseverance. "I always thought," he said, "there was a positive silver lining in each injury."

In this exclusive podcast with the baseball legend, Ripken shares stories from his playing career and his strategies to increase perseverance. He also discusses the lessons he’s learned through his many business ventures and reveals his method for instilling confidence and trust with his teammates. Lastly, he discusses some radical ideas to change the game of baseball and answers this question: Would he have been able to set the record playing in this modern era?

Ripken is the keynote speaker this January for The ASI Show Orlando.
