AP Specialties Suffers Spam Attack

Updated 7:17 a.m. ET, October 18, 2019:

UPDATE: AP Specialties has told Counselor that the SPAM attack is under control now.

San Clemente, CA-based AP Specialties (asi/30208) said Thursday that it has suffered a spam attack.

Nick Lateur, head of national sales at the company, warned customers on Facebook.

“If you receive an email from us that doesn’t look right, please DO NOT click any links or attachments. We are very sorry about this and are fixing the issue. Please DM or email me with questions. nick@apspecialties.com,” he wrote.

Lateur told Counselor to watch out for emails from addresses without “@apspecialties.com”. “They are actually random emails, so the content could be anything. Seems as though it copies an existing email and adds a random attachment,” Lateur says.

Counselor will keep you updated when the situation has been resolved.
