A member of the Promotional Products Professionals of Canada (PPPC) Hall of Fame and a past PPPC Chair, Plummer and his family, including daughter Kate and Gillian, operated Clearmount for the past 33 years. The company, which specializes in custom Lucite awards and is the North American representative of SIGG tumblers and bottles, was recently acquired by St Regis Group.

“David, along with his late wife Ros, have been my industry mentors,” said Evan Krofchick, president of Artmetal (asi/36980) and one of the industry leaders who nominated Plummer for the Hall of Fame in 2018. “They – along with their daughter Kate – gave me guidance and friendship, and David is a true ambassador of the promo industry. This well-meaning, kind-hearted and friendly man makes the industry better for not only his customers but his peers as well. The PPPC and the whole industry are lucky to have had his contributions over the years.”

Born in Toronto to the late Pat and George Plummer, David Plummer graduated from Queen's University with a Bachelor of Applied Science in Mechanical Engineering in 1979. He founded Clearmount in 1989 with his late wife Rosalind Fraser Plummer, also a member of the PPPC Hall of Fame.

Plummer is survived by his wife Barbara Huisman Goldhar; daughters Gillian (Philip), Katherine (Trevor) and Nicola (Graham); siblings Lynn Morse (Paul), Wendy Hinde (Mel) and Doug Plummer (Sandy); mother-in-law Rose Fraser; and dog Boady, as well as many family members and friends. In addition to his late wife Ros, Plummer was also predeceased by his father-in-law Robert Fraser.

The family will receive visitors at Humphrey Funeral Home, 1403 Bayview Avenue in Toronto, on Tuesday, January 17, 2023, from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held at St. John’s York Mills Anglican Church, 19 Don Ridge Drive, North York, ON, on Wednesday, January 18, 2023, at 11:00 a.m., and a life celebration will immediately follow at the Toronto Cricket Club, 141 Wilson Avenue, beginning at 1:00 p.m.

The family asks that, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to the Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation for pancreatic cancer research.
