Obituary: Deborah L. Berger, Hasch Daal Custom Embroidery

Deborah L. Berger, owner and operator of Hasch Daal Custom Embroidery in Kutztown, PA, passed away suddenly on August 3 as a result of a cardiac event. She was 65.

Born in Allentown, PA, Berger was the daughter of the late Elmer “Buddy” and Eleanor (DeLong) Hensinger. She graduated from Kutztown Area High School in 1973 and was previously employed as a hairdresser as well as a clothing buyer for the Kutztown University bookstore. She opened Hasch Daal in 1999.

Berger was an active member of the Northeast Berks Chamber of Commerce, and formerly served on its board of directors. She was also a member of the Business Owners Trade Alliance in Allentown, and Zion’s Union Church in Maxatawny, PA.

In her spare time, Berger enjoyed driving her convertible, reading, arts and crafts and spending time with her family, friends and beloved cat, Presley.

She is survived by her brother Randy (Donna) Hensinger and children Magenta and Jade; her son Kerry Berger (Trisha) and daughter Kelly Weisner (Andrew); and grandchildren Marisa and Sadie Berger, and Konnor and Alex Weisner, along with many cousins and their families.

Life celebration services will be announced at a later date. The family requests that contributions be made in Berger’s name to The Kutztown Community Library, 70 Bieber Alley, Kutztown, PA 19530.
