This intricate design was drawn in-house by Ignition Drawing’s resident artist Travis Bundy, based off a sketch by the team’s vector guru Mark Hardouin, according to Jesse Eliott, digitizing product manager for Ignition. Eliott wanted to highlight Madeira’s metallic twist threads in the piece. “I made a couple different versions, changing the scale colors and some even having metallic red in the lips,” Eliott says. The final version has approximately 210,000 stitches in 16 colors on a background of faux gold leather.

Best Feature: “Although the blends have to be the best I’ve ever done, I would say the special feature is the snakeskin pattern,” Eliott says. “I handmade my own program split-stitch patterns so I could just fill the area and let the patterns happen.”
