For almost 50 years, the Titus name and the franchise business model have become inextricably linked.

It started with Minuteman Press, a print shop that Roy Titus, an ad salesman in New York City in the 1950s and ʼ60s, turned into a franchise firm in 1975 along with his son Bob. In 1986, son Ray launched Sign-A-Rama, a sign franchise, at just 23 years old.

Today, Ray oversees United Franchise Group, which counts 10 enterprises under its umbrella. And UFG is definitely a family affair. Ray’s sons A.J. and Austin head Sign-A-Rama and Cannoli Pizza Kitchen, respectively. And Ray’s youngest son Andrew, all of 26 years old, is now running Top 40 distributor Fully Promoted after being named president last December. Andrew’s appointment just made good business sense, says Ray. Even though Andrew showed an aptitude for theater, he (like his brothers) just couldn’t stay away from the family business, beginning with power-washing the UFG building in West Palm Beach as a high school student.

Just a few years later, Andrew’s resume reads like that of someone twice his age. While he was in college, he got his feet wet working for a Fully Promoted franchisee in Birmingham, AL. After graduating, he started in franchise development, screening prospective franchisees for the UFG brands. He then moved from his native Florida to Manhattan for a time as a regional manager, then returned to the Sunshine State as a regional vice president, and spent a year as executive vice president of development for UFG. In 2021, he was named MVP for UFG, the youngest in company history to receive the recognition.

“Then last December, my dad said to me, ‘I’d love for you to consider taking the president role at Fully Promoted,’” says Andrew. “I thought for about five minutes, and then I said, ‘Yeah, let’s do this.’ I knew I was being considered for a leadership position and I secretly hoped it was Fully Promoted. It’s a marketing- and sales-focused industry, which are some of my strengths, it’s a growing industry and there’s massive opportunity. I knew that we could grow the brand to huge heights.”

“Franchisees quickly learned that Andrew’s not here just because I’m his dad.”Ray Titus, United Franchise Group

Andrew joined as president the same month – former President Mike Brugger, a previous member of the Power 50, is now president of Franchise Real Estate, a commercial real estate firm under the UFG family of brands.

Ray, who makes his return to the Power 50 list, is quick to point out that Andrew brings deep sales and marketing experience to the role. “Franchisees quickly learned that Andrew’s not here just because I’m his dad,” he says. “In fact, Fully Promoted is on track to triple franchise sales this year.”

Andrew has big plans for the company, including continuing to bring on new franchisees and determining the best industry tools to help clients run their businesses better. “Our family is always ready to take on what’s in front of us,” he says. “We’re very happy and energetic.”
