Company Size: Medium (26-100 employees)
Location: New Brighton, MN
Work Model: Hybrid
Year Founded: 1980

Company Culture: At Foxtrot Marketing Group (asi/170720), employees are always willing to pitch in and help each other out. Jill Haspert, Foxtrot’s CEO, notes the team culture and describes the work environment as “collaborative, hard-working and fun.” And there are perks aplenty: generous paid time off, paid volunteer time and parental leave, medical benefits and opportunities for promotion.

In addition to great benefits, the company boasts a strong culture and flexible scheduling options that employees love.

COVID Changes: Foxtrot moved into its new headquarters last May, with plenty of space for kitting, fulfillment and apparel decoration. Furniture and production equipment can be moved and reconfigured to allow for added growth.

What doesn’t this new space have? Private offices. The entire salaried workforce is spread across multiple states and works in a hybrid model; employees have autonomy to choose their schedules and where they work from. So instead of offices, the distributor added “huddle rooms” and project areas for focused work and private meetings. There’s also a meditation/quiet room for breaks. “With new norms around communication and occasional in-person team meetings,” says Haspert, “the hybrid model has worked incredibly well for Foxtrot and our customers.”

During COVID, Foxtrot has increased communication, including all-hands meetings, a new weekly Foxtrot Friday newsletter and virtual team-building sessions.

Parting Tip: Says Haspert: “Hire people you trust and get out of their way!”
