The private-equity fueled supplier, which has been one of the proficient deal-makers in the industry in recent years, started 2023 with big headlines by acquiring Top 40 supplier Evans Manufacturing (asi/52840). Adding in Evans’ 2022 revenue (about $72.6 million, according to the company) as well as organic growth led HPG to a 55.6% increase last year.

With Evans’ significant presence in Mexico, company executives say HPG is poised to provide deep inventory levels and short lead times through production locations in all four domestic time zones spanning all three North American countries. Seamlessly integrating Evans is a priority; founder Alan Vaught retired at the end of June, and HPG is looking to replace his role with a new general manager while also hiring industry veteran Alex Symms as director of sales at Evans.

Meanwhile, HPG is projecting 10% growth this year as it continues to lean on new tech tools, including Catalog+ and the Pinterest-like Storyboard+.
