5 Ways to Thrive With Facebook Live

FACT: According to Facebook stats, users watch Facebook Live videos three times longer than videos that aren’t live.

1. Let people know in advance when you’re broadcasting. Use social platforms to publicize your video. Think about offering an incentive like a gift card to build interest.

2. Make sure your equipment works. You can test sound and connection quality by keeping your broadcast private at first.

3. Don’t rush through it. Usually with video, quick is good. But with Facebook Live, your audience will typically grow the longer you broadcast.

4. Remember to repurpose. Plan your content and message so it appeals to audiences across other social channels. “Video can be repurposed as marketing over 200 different ways,” says social media expert Marki Lemons-Ryhal.

5. Have fun and don’t worry about mistakes. It’s live, stuff happens. That’s OK.
