Take Inspiration From #Balletcore

It’s both chic and comfortable, making it a perfect post-COVID style.

For your next promo campaign, look to the world of dance for ideal post-pandemic fashion.

A style dubbed #balletcore has continued to gain momentum on red carpets and catwalks since the fall of 2022. In fact, the “just came from ballet class” look is poised to be one of the spring’s most popular trends.

It gives wearers a classic, nostalgic appearance (think Audrey Hepburn at mid-century) that combines glamour and comfort, personal stylist Soneca Guadara told InStyle – ideal for after-COVID wardrobes.

Celebrities have certainly leaped into it in recent months – including models Bella Hadid and Kendall Jenner and actresses Lea Michele and Nicola Coughlan. At the Golden Globes last month, “ballet buns” were all the rage. Euphoria actress Sydney Sweeney said she channeled dance classes from her youth with her red carpet dress and makeup at the LACMA Art+Film Gala in November.

On TikTok, #balletcore has 13.5 billion views at the time of this writing and Instagram too has tons of inspiration.

Think ballet flats, tulle skirts, flowy tops, cozy sweaters and cardigans, leg warmers, bodysuits, leggings and accessories like puffer totes, delicate jewelry, satin scrunchies and bow barrettes – many of which are available from suppliers. Here’s how distributors can take advantage of the ballerina trend for upcoming promotional campaigns.

1. College Bookstores

Comfy, oversized sweaters or cardigans are ideal as layering pieces for the early spring. Students will also appreciate chenille patches and embroidery for a preppy touch.
