Going the Extra Mile

The first thing that catches the eye at Dimensional Marketing in beautiful Bloomfield Township, Michigan is their slogan, emblazoned on a floor mat by their front door: “Our Business is Promoting Your Name.”

It’s a fitting catch-phrase for a promotional products distributor (asi/180774) intent on providing full service to every customer. Miriam Wettenstein started the certified woman-owned company in 2000, growing from a home-based office to a full-scale business that now employs five full-time people, including her son, Zach, along with two outside sales reps.

“I wanted a business that’s fun and different,” she said.

This week, Miriam proved her fun-loving nature during a spin with Zach in the ASI Promocar for another episode of Promocar Talk, the industry’s first mobile interview series. The car, which is covered inside and out with nearly 1,000 promotional products, is on a week-long journey through Pennsylvania, Michigan and New York, visiting ASI member companies to learn about their business.

Zach (@Zwett), the company’s sales and marketing manager, also leads Dimensional’s social media efforts. “I like to reach out and be proactive and let our clients know about special promotions coming up, like back to school and tailgating,” he said. “I like to inspire people.”

Dimensional’s creative and marketing specialties and solutions include internet marketing, direct marketing and packaging opportunities.

“The internet is great, but clients also need someone to solve their problems – a real person who can provide personal service,” said Miriam.

Dimensional Marketing is located about a half hour from Detroit, which is undergoing a business renaissance that’s helping the Motor City shed its crime-ridden reputation, thanks in part to new businesses moving in and long-established automakers like Ford and Fiat-Chrysler helping re-energize the downtown.

“Detroit is growing tremendously,” said Zach. “People are spending money. It’s good to see.”

Like Detroit, a city immortalized by Eminem’s 2002 rapper movie “8 Mile,” Dimensional Marketing is growing and ready for action.

Said Zach: “What sets us apart is we always go the extra mile and think outside the box.”
