Ralph Schrank, co-founder of Auburndale, MA-based Ad-Vantage Incorporated (asi/105317), passed away on Sept. 22. He was 77 years old.

Entering the promotional products industry in the early 1970s, Schrank and then wife Sharon launched Ad-Vantage Incorporated in 1973. He was active in professional education in the industry and was a former board member of Promotional Products Association International (PPAI).

After selling Ad-Vantage, Schrank became an industry consultant for both suppliers and distributors. He finished his career working for Appleton, WI-based Strategies Ltd. (asi/337875), which was founded by former Ad-Vantage employee Doug Dobbe.

“He loved everything in its place, good conversation, wildlife art, a great steak, wine country, smooth jazz, fast cars and his wife Jane,” an obituary read.

Schrank is survived by his wife Jane; daughters Jennifer and Kari; stepson Philip; grandson Richard; granddaughter Taylor; sister Holly; brother Mark; and former spouse Sharon.

A celebration of his life will happen at a later date.
