Boost Engagement & Shumsky Combine Into Single Brand

The Ohio-based firms will now operate under the Boost Engagement name.

A distributor with a long-time presence in the industry and its sister firm will now go to market under a single brand.

Dayton, OH-based distributorship Shumsky and Boost Engagement, a provider of employee engagement solutions, will now both operate as Boost Engagement (asi/326300). Staffing will not change as a result of the rebrand.

“By combining solutions, expertise and resources, while honoring the legacy of our Shumsky family name, we will have a more prominent global presence and be well-positioned in the competitive landscape,” said Michael Emoff, chief vision officer of Boost Engagement.

The two divisions operated under separate branding for 20 years. Shumsky was established in 1953 by Hy and Elsie Shumsky. Their daughter, Jayne Emoff Miller – Michael’s mother – bought the company in 1984.

Chairman Anita Emoff said the move will help the company grow in both promotional products and workplace engagement. “We see this as an exciting opportunity to build on our strengths, embrace change and continue to thrive in the employee engagement and brand awareness spaces,” she added. “The company is confident that this strategic move will usher in a new era and help make us a significant player in multiple industries.”

Outta the Box Dispensers, which focuses on branded coupon dispensers for point-of-sale applications at retail, will continue to operate separately.

Last year, Boost Engagement was honored as Dayton Business Journal’s Business of the Year. In 2020, sales rep Barbara Buyers was named a Counselor Distributor Salesperson Finalist.
