In a rare case, Woopen is a “promo appropriate” product that failed to reach its goal on Kickstarter, and its founders appear to have abandoned the project. It’s possible, though, that suppliers and distributors could resurrect it for the promo industry. The Woopen is made entirely out of lime wood and engraved with a laser in a simple, modern style.
Piggybacking the fidget spinner’s marketing strategy as a stress reliever, the Woopen’s narrow circumference lets you easily twirl the pen between your fingers, a common habit while focusing. The Woopen was slated to be sold in a pack along with an ink refill cartridge and an elegant leather case. Based in London, the funding goal was £5,000, but only 26 backers pledged £2,153 before the creators pulled the plug.
Obviously, pens are synonymous with promotional products, and with its unique texture and marketing potential, the Woopen could be a hit for industry players in 2018.
