Proforma, EmbroidMe and Minuteman Press participating in ASI Summer Internship Program
TREVOSE, PA – June 2, 2016 –The Advertising Specialty Institute® (ASI) today announced its new internship program is enjoying a successful start, with 108 interns set to learn about the promotional products industry while working at 69 different participating companies, including Proforma, EmbroidMe and Minuteman Press.
“For a first-time program, we’re off to a very strong start, and I’m very thankful to the many companies helping millennials learn about our industry and the creative marketing possibilities of promo products,” said Timothy M. Andrews, president and chief executive officer of ASI. “This is proving to be the industry’s most successful intern program.”
ASI kicked off its ASI Summer Internship Program this week with the first of five educational webinars available for participants. The recorded webinars are available to the interns to view any time at their own pace. Topics include an industry overview, training in the industry’s number-one product sourcing database, ESP®, digital marketing and website creation.

“One of the biggest concerns distributors have over hiring summer interns is the time and effort it takes to train newcomers about our industry, which is why we made training a key component of our internship program,” said Andrews.
According to Forbes magazine, there are 80 million millennials in America alone, and they represent about a fourth of the entire population and $200 billion in annual buying power. Studies show that as the age and demographics of buyers change, industries need to reflect those demographics in their own workplaces to better understand changing preferences and reach new audiences.
