California Voters Uphold Plastic Bag Ban
California voted to pass Proposition 67 on Tuesday, upholding the statewide plastic bag ban that was enacted two years ago. The results for the referendum were 52% in favor and 48% against the ban. InnerWorkings Reports Q3 Revenue Increase
Top 40 distributor InnerWorkings (asi/168860) has announced that its revenue reached $280 million in the third quarter, a year-over-year increase of 5.8%. Gross profit was $67.8 million, a 6.6% increase compared to the third quarter of 2015, while net income was $4.34 million, an increase of 10.15% year-over-year.
The company increased its year-to-date revenue by 8.08% to $820.3 million, while gross profit for the first three quarters was $194.8 million, an increase of 9.65% compared to the same time period in 2015. Diluted earnings per share for the year to date increased 44.4%, from 18 cents to 26 cents.

ASI Power Summit Recap
The ASI Power Summit celebrated 10 years last week in Miami, and ASICentral.com has all the highlights. Attendees enjoyed a number of informative breakout sessions on various industry-centered topics; Dawn Hudson, CMO of the NFL, delivered an inspiring keynote address; and Counselor unveiled its highly anticipated Power 50 list. Fossil Group Reports Sales Decline in Q3
Fossil Group Inc., parent company of Fossil Corporate Markets (asi/55145), announced that worldwide net sales for its third quarter reached $738 million, down 4.32% or $33.3 million from the third quarter of 2015. Gross profit also decreased to $385.1 million, a drop of 7.8%, while gross margin fell to 52.2% from 54.2%. Diluted earnings per share fell to $0.36 from $1.19.
The company reports that growth in its SKAGEN and FOSSIL product lines was offset by a decrease in sales among its licensed brands.
In the third quarter, sales in the Americas reached $361.2 million, a drop of 7.67% from the third quarter of 2015. Sales in Europe, meanwhile, fell 6.57% to $243.2 million, while sales in Asia rose by 11.52% to $133.6 million. Worldwide, sales fell across the Watches, Leathers and Jewelry product categories.
In Memoriam: Barry Chouinard
Barry Chouinard, founder of garment-dyed T-shirt company Comfort Colors, passed away on Sunday, October 30. He was 65.
Born in Peterborough, NH, Chouinard relocated to Vermont in 1975 and established a textile business, which he managed until his retirement in 2015 when he sold it to Gildan Activewear (asi/56842). He was a devout churchgoer, and a member of the Sons of The American Legion, the Elks, the Loyal Order of Moose and the Canadian Club in Barre, VT. He was also a fan of youth, high school and adult athletics.

Top 40 supplier Sweda Co. LLC (asi/90305) announced that it has entered into an exclusive partnership with luggage manufacturer Eagle Creek. Effective January 1, 2017, Sweda will offer the Carlsbad, CA, company's entire line of luggage, packing organizers and travel systems to the promotional industry.
“We have been fortunate in the last six years to secure premiere brands by selecting only those partners that share our ideals, quality standards and innovative style,” said Kellie Claudio, senior vice president of sales and marketing in a statement. “Eagle Creek brings to Sweda a focus on outfitting the traveler to help make their experience better and the discoveries greater.
