U.S. Import Costs Increase In March
The U.S. Labor Department reports that prices of imported goods rose in March by 0.2%, after economists had predicted an increase of 1.0% from February. Despite a lower than expected result, this is the first time since June 2015 that import prices posted a monthly gain. It follows a downwardly revised drop of 0.4% in February 2016.
CPSC Recalls Coleman Flashlights
In conjunction with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Wichita, KS-based supplier and retail-product company Coleman Co. Inc. (asi/45647) has recalled three models of Coleman flashlights because the lithium-ion batteries have the potential to overheat, posing a fire hazard to consumers. There have been two reports of the batteries catching fire and causing minor property damage, though no injuries have been reported. The flashlights are not listed in ASI’s ESP database.

Study: Marketers Not Measuring Mobile Ad ROI A new study has found that marketers aren’t sure how to measure the ROI of their mobile ad campaigns. Digital marketing news outlet ClickZ, in partnership with marketing company Search Optics, has released a survey that finds that approximately 21% of respondents do not measure the ROI of their mobile campaigns, or do not know how to do so effectively.
This uncertainty comes as market research company eMarketer released a report entitled “Need-to-Know Trends in U.S. Digital Advertising,” in which it reported that digital ad spending continues to increase in the United States, and estimated that it will make up 35.8% of total media ad spending this year, just 1% below television’s share.
UnitedHealthcare Offers Promos For Autism Awareness In recognition of Autism Awareness Month, national charity Jaden’s Voice celebrated the grand opening of its West Philadelphia office in early April. The organization advocates for children with autism in underserved communities, providing financial assistance to families and educating parents and guardians on how best to care for children with the disorder.
In addition to educational seminars and supportive politicians in attendance, UnitedHealthcare gave away bags of promotional products, including oversized placemats featuring a balanced diet diagram, colorful informational booklets, car chargers, crayons and even a stuffed animal aptly named Dr. Health E. Hound.
