Phyllis Mirkin Adels, owner of distributor firm Phyllis Adels Advertising, passed away in June in Houston, TX. She was 81.
After working at Neiman Marcus for five years starting in 1972, Adels started Phyllis Adels Personal Shopper Inc. She helped clients in selecting tasteful gifts, such as unique jewelry and personalized gifts. Later, she joined the promotional products industry by expanding the business to become Phyllis Adels and Executive Advertising Gifts. Her daughter, Jill, joined the business and worked with her for the past 30 years. In an email to Counselor, Jill Adels said she will now continue to oversee and operate the business.
Phyllis Adels is survived by her four daughters (Dawn Adels Fine, Nanci Adels Fine, Jill Adels Klaff, and Allison Adels), three grandchildren (Tony Fine, Francesca Fine and Katie Estelle Klaff), sister (Marilynn Mirkin Wood), and multiple nieces and nephews.
