Top 40 supplier TSC Apparel (asi/90518) has purchased Portland, OR-based Thinc Actionwear (asi/91120), the companies announced this afternoon. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
“We’re excited about the opportunity to serve Thinc’s customer base, and I believe they’ll also be pleased with everything that TSC has to offer,” said TSC Apparel CEO Bob Winget. “Being a local family-owned business for so long, Thinc is perfectly aligned with our ‘large enough to fill your needs, small enough to care’ philosophy.”
The deal will also present TSC with expanded geographic coverage in the Pacific Northwest, as Thinc’s presence there will complement TSC’s six U.S. distribution centers. Thinc, which was founded in 1980, offers 40 brands of activewear, headwear, outerwear, women’s wear, bags, and children’s apparel to the industry.
“We’re excited about the positive impact this move will have on our customers – a greatly expanded product offering, deeper on-hand inventories, and a national next-day shipping footprint,” said Fred Schroedl, president of Thinc Actionwear. “I know TSC Apparel is a customer-focused company that will continue to provide our many loyal customers with the quality service that they’ve come to expect from Thinc Actionwear.”
