Reversible Jacket, Magnetic Pins Among the Merch At WWDC19

Apple’s annual conference for developers provides some of the tech industry’s most sought-after swag.

Apple’s World Wide Developer Conference (WWDC) is known for providing some of the coolest, most sought-after branded merchandise in the technology world. WWDC19, which kicked off Monday, is living up to the tradition of swag par excellence, according to social media feedback from developers.

Early this week, arriving attendees received conference-specific branded merch. It included a bomber jacket, magnetic pins, a special T-shirt for scholarship winners and more. The jackets have been a big hit thus far. Reversible, they can be worn as a plain bomber with a subtle WWDC logo printed on the chest. Or, wearers can flip them around to display a funky, all-over print that features Apple-specific artwork, including CEO Tim Cook’s Memoji.

The collection of pins, which can attach to the jacket or other products magnetically, include WWDC logos, national flags representing attending developers’ home countries, and a unique pin for WWDC scholarship recipients. Scholars will also be taking home a T-shirt that features the WWDC19 logo, which you can see in the tweet below.

Certainly, the WWDC19 swag was getting some social media love.

Held since 1987, WWDC is an annual conference, usually hosted in San Jose, CA, where Apple showcases new software and technology to developers. As we said in writing about WWDC last year: Even at a conference focused on pioneering digital technology, tangible promotional products remain valuable, sought-after vehicles for brand enhancement, community building, and saying thanks.
