One of the highlights of the Canadian Power Summit was a dinner honoring the fastest-growing Canadian suppliers and distributors in the industry. Among the fastest-growing honorees at the Canadian Power Summit was Akran Marketing (asi/115329), which took the number eight spot on the list. Raman Agarwal, the firm’s president, attributes his company’s growth (34% over two years) to the company’s long term-vision of retaining clients, plus Akran’s dedication to volunteerism. Agarwal last year received Counselor magazine’s Bess Cohn Humanitarian Award for his work as founding director of Akran Foundation, a non-profit the helps support children living in poverty. “We give back to the communities we live in and cherish,” he says. “That is very important to us.”
