CPSC Recalls Glass Beer Mugs

The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has issued a recall of glass beer mugs sold exclusively at HomeGoods stores in the U.S. and Canada, due to burn and laceration hazards.

CPSC Recalls Glass Beer Mugs

The recall involves 16.9 ounce glass mugs, which have a label attached to the side reading “Handmade in Poland.” A second label on the bottom of the mug includes HomeGoods style number 069386. About 500 of the $4 mugs were sold in the U.S. and 1,500 in Canada in May and June of this year. HomeGoods received two reports from Canada of the mugs breaking when heated or used with hot liquids, including one report of a burn injury to the user’s abdomen. No injuries have been reported in the U.S. No ASI-listed firms were noted in the recall.

The CPSC is asking consumers to stop heating or using the recalled mugs with hot liquid immediately and return them to the nearest HomeGoods for a full refund. The glass beer mugs were manufactured in Poland and imported by The TJX Companies Inc of Framingham, MA.
