Top 40 supplier S&S Activewear’s (asi/84358) new distribution center in Fort Worth, TX, is officially open for business. The facility, plans for which were first announced in May, measures 493,000 square feet, making it the largest of the company’s five locations.
The center, equipped with all of S&S’s proprietary distribution center technology, is fully operational for shipping and receiving. The company expects to make will call orders available early next year. The facility will offer expanded one-day coverage to the greater part of the Lone Star State, including Dallas, Fort Worth, Houston and Austin, as well as all of Oklahoma, Northern Louisiana and select cities in Arkansas, including Little Rock.
“Our team was challenged to complete this project before the end of this year and we were determined to get it done,” said Mike Mannucci, director of operations, in a statement. “I couldn’t be more impressed with the collaborative effort that went in to this production.”
The supplier also announced in October that it has plans to open a 505,000-square-foot energy-efficient distribution center in the greater Atlanta area by the second quarter of 2018. It will offer one-day ship times to the Southeast, including Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, South Carolina, North Carolina and Florida, as well as two-day shipping to the rest of its distribution network in the Midwest and Eastern U.S.
The new Fort Worth and Atlanta locations will expand S&S’s operational footprint to 3 million square feet across the country. The company also operates facilities in Illinois, Kansas, New Jersey and California.

S&S Activewear ranks sixth on Counselor’s list of the 40 largest suppliers in the industry, with reported 2016 North American promotional product revenue of $275 million.
