Deluxe Corporation, parent company of Top 40 distributor Safeguard (asi/316203), has acquired online distributor InkHead Promotional Products (asi/231159). The company officially made the purchase on July 19. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
“The InkHead team has built out a great capability that allows us to continue to expand our overall product portfolio serving customers across a number of key verticals,” said Malcolm McRoberts, senior vice president of small business services for Deluxe.
Deluxe says that the acquisition of InkHead, which operates primarily through its e-commerce website, will strengthen the company’s presence in the online market and add to its portfolio of small business marketing services. The InkHead name will remain for the time being, and McRoberts said Deluxe will evaluate the timing to bring the company “under the Deluxe banner.” The InkHead leadership team has been incorporated into Deluxe’s small business operations.
“Customers of both companies will enjoy the added benefit of increased services across the board,” McRoberts said. “This move continues to help build out Deluxe’s complete suite of small business marketing services. Customers will also enjoy a broader range in product offerings and an online user experience that will enhance the customer’s overall experience.”
Based in Winder, GA, InkHead was founded in 2003 and is a previous honoree on the list of Counselor’s Fastest-Growing Distributors.
Safeguard (which is housed within Deluxe’s Small Business Services group) offers promotional products in addition to online marketing and web services, office supplies, business forms and checks and more. It ranks as the 28th-largest distributor in the industry with an estimated $66 million in North American promotional product revenue.
