Dubow Textile is in the process of adding 21,000 square feet to its already roomy 40,000-square-foot facility in St. Cloud, MN. Owner Rob Dubow says he expects the $1.5 million expansion to be complete and in use sometime in September. “Business is good,” Dubow explains. “We need to make sure we have a capacity for the peaks of the business season. … We’re trying to do what’s best, not only for ourselves, but also for our customers.”
The new space will house five eight-head embroidery machines Dubow has already ordered, bringing the contract shop’s total head count to about 200. Dubow also plans to add more screen-printing and digital print equipment in the near future.
This is the third time the shop has grown since 2011. “This expansion is larger than the last two just so that we do have the ability to grow into it,” Dubow says. “It takes a lot of effort in order to put an expansion together.”
The shop currently employs around 75 people, but Dubow expects his staff to grow significantly, with the expansion likely enabling him to add anywhere from 40 to 50 new jobs in the next few years.
Dubow Textile in St. Cloud, MN, has tripled in size since 2011, as it completes its third shop expansion in four years.
