Q: Please give us some company background.

A:Kevin and I needed a company that could grow with our experience. I have a strong background in sales and branding, while Kevin comes from a history of product-development and engineering; so, with 20 years of sales experience and nearly nine years in the promotional products industry, we opened NVS Promotional Designs in the beginning of 2012. Our goal is to supply quality, technology-based products at factory-direct pricing and pair those items with a relationship-based sales approach.

The culture here empowers our reps to work and be flexible with distributors on everything. That could be special pricing, rush orders, gift packaging or even a totally custom item that we help design and source. The bottom line is that we want to be the company that you know will go the extra mile to help you get your deal closed, produced and delivered.

Q: Which products are hot sellers right now?

A: Definitely our iPhone/Samsung cases, portable power-bank chargers, and our wireless mice have been really big lately. Since opening our doors, USB flash drives will continue to be big sellers. We can source almost all styles of USB and do any imprint at an industry leading price, so it’s easy for us to be competitive and stand out against the other USB suppliers.

The newer items: iPhone cases, portable power-bank chargers and our wireless mice have been big sellers because we’re able to offer low MOQs, fast turn times and a full complement of product and logo options that many other suppliers simply are not offering. In many cases we hear from distributors that jobs we consider to be routine are being turned down by other much larger suppliers in the market. That kind of product and imprint flexibility, combined with expert product knowledge, has really proven to be a powerful combination our distributors have come to value.

Q: What are some of the top markets for your products?

A: Since we work with distributors of all sizes worldwide, we see our products being sold to companies of all kinds and in many different market applications. I’ll mention a few of the more notable areas, but if you ever need an idea, we’re the people to call.

We definitely get a lot of products for trade show fulfillment, but beverage and technology companies are markets where we’ve seen some large orders come through. One area we’ve encouraged our distributors to try and develop is companies who have corporate stores and/or fulfillment programs that their employees can purchase from on an ongoing basis. Schools and universities are another great opportunity for branded products that can be sold directly to their students.

Q: What makes your products unique?

A: Our products are unique in that not only do they tap directly into the tech pipeline, but they are also products with staying power. An iPhone case, wireless mouse, power-bank, USB flash drive or Bluetooth speaker are all products that will be used for years. This staying power boosts the value of the branding opportunity immeasurably.

Q: What features should distributor sales reps note when pitching your products to clients?

A: Our products can keep your brand front and center for years. They also convey a much higher perception of value to your brand. In addition to brand and quality benefits, many of our products can deliver a much healthier margin for our distributors than some of the other staples of the industry.
