Join Us In Chicago

An only-in-Princeton evening: Bumping into Family Ties actress Tracy Pollan and her family, who were in town promoting their new healthy cookbook, Mostly Plants. Tracey’s husband of course is Michael J. Fox, star of the uber-successful Back to the Future franchise – and a two-time speaker at ASI shows.

Michael has also written three books about his incredible life, which includes his efforts through his foundation to advocate for researching a cure for Parkinson’s. Through Michael, I was lucky enough to form a friendship with his entire family (the pic shows me, Tracy, her mom, my friend Matt and one of Tracy’s sisters).

While our keynote speakers at our upcoming Chicago show, taking place Tuesday, July 9 through Thursday, July 11, may not be household names (yet!), I’m really looking forward to their presentations:

  • Wednesday, July 10: Join us for a motivational breakfast with speaker Heather Abbot, a survivor of the Boston marathon bombing who will inspire us with her incredible story of surviving horrific injuries, finding purpose in life and paying it forward through her foundation, which helps rehabilitate others.
  • Thursday, July 11: Keynote speaker Luke Williams – globally recognized innovator, inventor, disrupter – will reveal a way of thinking that has the power to transform your business and keep you ahead of the game.

There’s a lot to look forward to at Chicago, which includes three days of free education, exhibits and events, from “How to Get the Most Out of Your Trade Show Experience” to a “New Product Preview Reception,” all of which will help members fully prepare for success.

The first exhibit day ends with plenty of fun networking opportunities, either at the ASI Bash on the rooftop lounge of the Godfrey Hotel, or the prestigious, black-tie Counselor Awards (invitation only!), where we’ll celebrate and recognize the industry’s top leaders, along with the Person of the Year, International Person of the Year and the Top 40 distributors and suppliers.

Meeting, greeting, eating, networking, learning, making new friends and enjoying new experiences are at the heart of any ASI Show, which is why I hope to see you next month in the Windy City!

P.S. I spent an hour with the Pollans in my adopted hometown of Princeton, NJ, and we enjoyed a great chat about all things food (one of my favorite subjects). They also gifted me an autographed copy of their latest book, which follows The Pollan Family Table.
