Here at Counselor, we've put the pedal to the metal and started our eight-day adventure across the U.S. and into Canada. Where are we going? In search of cool workplaces, fun offices, and unique business environments.
Today begins the second annual Counselor Best Places to Work Road Tour, where we'll drop in on some of the companies on the 2012 Best Places to Work list. Three editors (Melinda Ligos, Andy Cohen, and Joe Haley) piled into a car in New York first thing this morning to begin a trip that will take us to 17 companies in eight days. We have our cameras ready, special Road Tour T-shirts on hand, and our energy level up, as we try to answer this question: What do these companies do that makes their employees want to come to work every day?
On last year's trip, we were surprised with everything ranging from a Hawaiian Luau in Virginia and breakfast with a live band in North Carolina to Happy Hour in Texas and a sales rep who showed up as a showgirl in Las Vegas. No doubt, it was a trip one would never forget, highlighted by companies that truly care about their employees and their overall workplaces. What craziness will this year's trip bring? Follow the action on our website, on Twitter (#CounselorTour) and on Facebook. You'll find daily blog posts from every company we visit, photos, videos, and, of course, tales from the road that are sure to entertain.
