Dallas Leads Top Markets For Promo Sales
Receives Highest ASV Index Score
An exclusive ASI and Counselor survey shows that the Dallas/Fort Worth/Arlington metropolitan statistical area (MSA) is the top one in the United States for sales of advertising specialties. Based on the Ad Specialties Vitality Index (ASV), the survey measures the amount of promotional products sales in each of the country's largest 100 MSAs against the population of those MSAs. The result is a 1-to-100 ranking of the best and worst places for sales of ad specialties right now.
Following Dallas, rounding out the top five markets for ad specialties sales are: Greensboro/High Point, NC; Bridgeport/Stamford/Norwalk, CT; Columbia, SC; and Milwaukee/Waukesha/West Allis, WI. But, it's the Dallas area that received the highest ASV index score in the survey. And while the Dallas MSA ranks as the fourth-largest in the United States in terms of population, the area's concentration of promotional products sales compared to its population makes it the top market in the country.
"The types of companies that are here are heavy users of promotional products," says Paul Gittemeier, CEO of Tic Toc (asi/158990), a Top 40 distributor that's based in Dallas. "There's a broad spectrum of industries and the harvest field is ripe."
On the other side of the sales spectrum, the last five markets in the 1-100 rankings of MSAs (including three markets in California) are: Washington/Arlington/Alexandria, DC/VA/MD/WV; Bakersfield, CA; McAllen/Edinburg/Mission, TX; Riverside/San Bernardino/Ontario, CA; and last in the ranking is Stockton, CA.
