Obituary: Nick Kronberger, Kronberger Co.
He Was 87
Nick Kronberger, a salesman and entrepreneur who spent 50 years in the ad specialty industry, died on October 26. He was 87.
Kronberger, a longtime salesman for Martin Meyers Co. and later Geiger (asi/202900), also established a successful family-run distributorship – Kronberger Co. – in the 1960s. Like many of his generation, Kronberger got his start in the industry selling promotional products out of a suitcase. When he founded his own firm, he succeeded with the help of loved ones – all six of his children and his wife, Freda, joined him in the business at some point in their lives.
Active in his community, Kronberger was a member of the Knights of Columbus and a three-time president of the Rotary Club of Northeast Philadelphia. He also served on the state board of Citizens for Educational Freedom and notably contributed to the Northeast Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce and the Settlement Music School. He was a founding board member of the Center for Families and Relationships (CFAR), as well.
Kronberger is survived by his wife Freda, children Maryanne, Bill, Bob, Kathy, Mark and Tom and sister, Theresa. Services for Kronberger were held on November 2 at St. Albert the Great Church in Huntingdon Valley, PA. Donations may be made to CFAR, 1600 Magee Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19149 or at www.cfarcounseling.org/.
