He Was 86
Edgar F. Trombly, product designer for VisionUSA (asi/80060), passed away on July 20 at the age of 86. Trombly was part of VisionUSA since its inception in 1989, and he was the designer of many of the company's award-winning products, such as the Infuser Water Bottle that won a 2012 Counselor Product Design Award.
"Ed was part of the VisionUSA family," said VisionUSA partners Michael Fishman and Mark Weissman, in a statement. "He designed many of our most innovative products. His talents helped to build our company."
Trombly was a pioneer in the field of industrial design for more than 60 years. After serving in the U.S. Navy during World War II, he worked for General Motors Design Center. He holds more than 60 patents in his name and created hundreds of patented designs for major corporations including Dow Chemical, Mobil Chemical, Sears, J.C. Penney, McDonald's, Taco Bell and many others.
