ASI Power Summit Canada Opens
First-Ever Event Brings Together Leaders Of Canadian Ad Specialty Industry
Held at the mountainous and scenic Fairmont Banff Springs hotel in Banff, Canada, ASI opened its inaugural Power Summit Canada yesterday. With two-and-a-half days of networking, brainstorming, and sharing of ideas and success stories, the first-ever event is bringing together the leaders of the Canadian ad specialty industry.
The Power Summit Canada kicked off last night with a networking session and group dinner designed to get attendees to interact in a fun and unique environment. Five groups of attendees shuttled around the hotel property during The Amazing Cocktail Race, each one trying to solve clues and fulfill certain tasks (yes, having a few cocktails along the way was part of the game). With contestants tasked with sending their solutions through pictures to Twitter, the industry could follow along as well. Go to the #asipowersummit hashtag on Twitter to see the results.
Today's sessions were highlighted by a keynote speech from noted economist Dr. Jack Mintz. Speaking on the state of the economy in Canada, as well as providing forecasts on the future opportunities and challenges that industry companies in Canada will face, the University of Calgary professor offered a roadmap for firms to follow as they plot out their strategies for the next six to 12 months. Further sessions today and tomorrow will look at Counselor's Canadian State of the Industry report, discuss ways for companies to break into the U.S. market, and share new marketing and sales strategies that are currently working for industry companies in Canada.
Go to www.asicentral.com throughout the next two days to see updates, pictures, and videos from the event, as well as the exclusive unveiling of the first-ever Fastest-Growing Canadian Companies list from Counselor. It will be posted online after tonight's celebration dinner, which will honor and announce the companies on the list. Plus, make sure to check out Tuesday's Counselor PromoGram for complete coverage of the ASI Power Summit Canada.
