Promo Products Take Over The Super Bowl
Super Bowl Boulevard
Super Bowl XLVIII, also known as the biggest promotional event of the year, took place on Sunday at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. But the big marketing scene throughout the week leading up to the game was in New York City’s Times Square, which was renamed Super Bowl Boulevard. With a bevy of sponsors that pitched tents to do promotional giveaways and have many of the millions of people who walked through the area interact with their brands, promotional products were omnipresent.
There was an ice cream truck (funny, given the single digit temperatures for the first part of the week) sponsored by clothing maker New Era that was fully wrapped in New Era branding and handing out free treats. Plus, Xbox One, Papa John’s, SAP, Bridgestone, McDonald’s, GMC and M&Ms all had sponsor tents like it was the world’s largest trade show. Handing out items ranging from promotional pizza boxes and QR-coded ID cards to promotional coffee cups, pens, koozies, and key rings, the sponsors were all very creative with their use of ad specialties.
