Fields Manufacturing Acquires Target Industries Vol. 849
September 8, 2011
In its second acquisition in the
last 13 months, Minnesota-based Fields
Manufacturing (asi/54100) has purchased the assets of Target
Industries (asi/90640). Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
According to Matt Bertram,
president of Fields, Target will continue to operate out of its location in Owosso, MI, and will maintain a separate catalog and customer
service group. Target’s owner, Jim Griesen, has
accepted a position on Fields’ board of advisors for a period of six years and
also has been retained as a consultant.
Fields’ acquisition of Target
Industries is the firm’s second since last summer. In August of 2010, Fields
acquired the name Animal Fair (formerly asi/36235) and selected inventory from
Princess Soft Toys. Target Industries, which operates in the ad specialty
market as TargetLine, sells products in 17 different
categories, ranging from writing instruments and lanyards to drinkware and stress relievers. |
